Kings Lynn

King’s Lynn is more than just a medieval port. The town is now a treasure trove for history lovers with narrow streets and handsome merchant houses in the old town, it has the only surviving Hanseatic warehouse in the country and plenty of fascinating visitor attractions to help bring the olden days alive.

When you tire of the history, take a stroll round the walks, the impressive parkland where you can feed the ducks, enjoy a picnic or listen to the music drifting over from the Victorian bandstand. Down by the river, you can take a ferry over to the west bank and take in the outstanding view of the King’s Lynn’s townscape.

Situated as it is on the bank of the river Great Ouse, the town also has a thriving maritime scene. Fishing boats landing shellfish from the Wash, much larger vessels loading grain for example can all be seen on a guided walk.
